Default Keyless Remote on Ebay

I've been seeing on ebay that there are guys out there selling key less remotes for Mustangs. Well I lost mine about 3 years ago and I was wondering can these remotes be programed for my car and if so, how do you do it. One other question, I have a keyless remote for a Kia that I no longer own. Can I program that remote for my mustang?

You need a remote that is model specific. If your k/e is a factory ford, you will need to purchase a remote from ford. A link to what you're looking at would be a help though.

Here is a link to one of them.

Does anyone know how to program them? Some sellers want to sell the programing instructions separate and charge you extra for them.

Also, I'm hoping that you have to have the key in the switch and turn it on to program them because I would hate to think that someone else could just walk up to my car in a parking lot and unlock my doors and take whatever they want of the inside.

What year make and model is your car? I'm sure I can get you instructions. Yes it does require the key being cycled to enter the programming code.

What year is your car? I believe the 94-98 are different from the 99-04 in terms of programing. I know for my '95 you don't use the key in the ignition method but let us know and we can help you without you paying for it. As long as you buy a remote like your OEM one you can program it to your car.

open the trunk, pull back the carpet on the left side. you'll see a little open jumper, you need to complete the circuit with a paperclip. Then I think you can press a button on each remote you want to program and then remove the paperclip...

you need to jump the two pins, turn the key forward to the "on" position, close all doors, press the unlock button, then lock button, shut the car off and remove the jumper

your keyfob should work now

Don't buy a ebay remote, you can buy a genuine ford remote for $50 or $60.
