LoL, if the "tuner" is telling him that 24# injectors are too much and he has to jump back down to 19# injectors then he also probably told him that it's easier to port the heads when you remove the intake. You don't need to taken them off the engine. Anything that gets grinded off will simply pass through the engine and get harmlessly blown out the exhaust.

find a new tuner.

I would agree your tuner doesn't know what he is talking about, like someone mentioned earlier the Cobra's came with 24# injectors stock and the cam and GT40 heads on the Cobra's are much tamer than AFR 165 and the 2031 cam you are running! My last car had GT40's and an E-303 with 24# and it was perfect. Your combo really does need the 24's because you are really pushing the duty cycle of 19's with your set-up. Get a tuner who has a clue

The only reason you should change from 24's to 19's is if you, like Hugh Hefner CAN....

I believe that I read a statement Charles O Probst wrote, I believe in his Ford EFI book that #30's were largest you could on a stock engine and keep the low speed resolutoin - idle as stock

let me rephrase

A im port matching the intake, not the heads

second, he said id be fine with 19's because at this point its going rich down low, and the 24s might actually be hurting more than helping

it was also running lean with the 24's until he put the new FP regulator on it

ill probably leave the 24's on though,
