Default Rear End Howl (?)

Yeah, idk if its the rear end, or the tranny, but it sounds like its coming from the rearend. It always make kind of a rumbly noise (always has), but increasingly until now its developed a more of a high pitch whine/howl under light to mid throttle. Its REALLY ****ing annoying and Id like to know if theres some bearings or seals I can take care of.

I replaced the pinion seal and U joint this morning, it fixed the clunk into gear and the leak, but the fluid in the diff is full and all...

Ideas? Id like to fix it asap since it does it 98% of the time Im on the freeway which is about 80% of my driving >_<

Did you change your gears recently or are they still stock?

you may have a bad axle bearing and or axle by now.......or a bearing in the diff, start by pulling axles if noise is in the rear

to inspect, remove diff cover and pinion pin and c-clips and then remove axles and inspect the surface the bearing rides on as well as the bearings in the tubes and if nothing jumps out...pull diff unit and inspect carrier bearings and races

spin the pinion to see if it feels rough. That may be why your pinion seal leaked.
