nope. But the benefit to removing = gain in hp from less applications needed to be ran by motor.

I doubt that you'll pass the visual with the smog pump and EGR missing, let along the actual test.

unless you swap out all emissions items and the likes before a race, there wont me a noticeable difference.

I hope that your not infering that there are no cons to removing the EGR???.....cause if you understood what egr is for and what it does the proper answer is:YES!!! there is a con to removing the egr.....which it is refered to as exhaust gas recirculation and at certain times the egr circulates exhaust gases into the cumbustion chamber to lower NOX....which is a greenhouse gas the egr by injecting exhaust gases into the cumbustion chamber lowers cylinder temps which inturn lowers NOx output, without egr on the 5.0 you most likely will not pass the actual test as NOx emissions will be above the max limit and if you have a visual inspection you will surely fail for missing smog and egr, the smog/thermactor air injection is only operative in warm up to inject air into the exhaust stream to heat up the cats quicker to bring them into their effectiveness range

^^^^Exactly, egr will not hurt performance enough for you to even notice, most remove it cause they are unable to figure out how to repair it if it is malfunctioning.....heaven knows it can't be for weight reduction cause your lucky if the valve and selonoid weight a total of 5 lbs
