Default New suspension?

Ok, so here's the deal..

I just put Saleen 18x9 replicas (Nitto NT555 265/35/18's all around) on my '94 GT convertible and, quite frankly, the wheel gap looks pretty ridiculous. There's almost more wheel gap on my Mustang than there is on my '01 Expedition.

That being said, I guess I'm moving suspension work way up on my list and making it the next thing I do.

Currently, I'm using the entire stock suspension (struts, shocks, and springs) and I have almost 116,000 miles.

What would be the BEST bang-for-the-buck setup available? The Bilstein BTS-7504 setup (http://store.summitracing.com/partde...0&autoview=sku) looks really nice, but I just wanted to check and see if I could do "better", considering the BTS-7504 setup is..$750.

Thoughts?

Thanks,
-Jordan

I'd put some lowering springs and caster camber plates on first and then add to that as you want. Struts and shocks won't do anything for ride height.

when you lower a car and you have old struts/shocks, just replace it all in one shot

personally I'd work on subframes and torque boxes before worrying about strut's and shocks, then I'd do upper and lower rear contol arms

Sometimes you have to go through 2-3 sets of springs before you get the exact ride height you really like. One you get the ride height where you want it then intstall the shocks and struts you really like. This way you don't have to keep taking loose those brand new shocks and struts. IF IT WERE ME I would get everything at the right ride height, get all my torque boxes, frame connectors, control arms and all that done and then when all that is established then I'd pick out the struts and shocks I wanted and do that last with the alignment. Thats just my personal preferance and not for everyone.

Isn't it going to ride like complete garbage with lowering springs and stock shocks/struts with 116,000 miles on them? ..

This isn't a permanant thing. Just until you get the ride height set. Plus you won't notice that much differance in the ride with those big wheels and low profile tires.

Ok..any suggestions on what I should try to start? Summit links would be nice, but if you have general product suggestions, I can see if I can find it on Summit. I'm expecting several gift certificates to Summit for Christmas this year..
