I doubt it's the ground since the circuit has it's own. Most likely just a bum part. Bill if the car sits a lot, that can cause failure as well. The last couple times ago I has the same issue. Then it started working. I had the car out Sat evening and the power mirror on the drivers side had no up and down motion. As I drove the car, it started working again. I think these cars must get pissed off if you don't drive them often enough, Haha!

i have seen actuators in other applications go bad due to misalignment / bad angles. I haven't done one in a fox so I don't even know if that is a possibility.

SOLUTION!!!
ive suffered from bad actuators. got new ones from LMR and they died after a few months, then got new ones from a local parts store, same story. the third set i got i COVERED all around with thick dielectric grease and they are still good almost a year later! i think its an issue from the water that gets into the door. Getting replacement for parts would be a good idea but they are PRICEY

that's a pretty darn good idea. i think next time i replace it i will slather it up with grease, even under the rubber cover and around the rotating rod.

yea thats what i did, all inside the rubber sleave, inside the power plug, and a little around the actual lock mechanism just in case. maybe not even water but just the humidity in the air... crappy parts. ford can make them to last for years, but these aftermarket chinese things dont last without special tricks
