Default Any thoughts on Typhoon Intake manifold?

I've read a few articles about it being comparable to the edelbrock. Anyone have any info or experience with it?

I ran the Typhoon and the Edelbrock RPM intakes and they ran within 5 hp/8tq of each other and went with a typhoon because it was way cheaper.

I've herd its good for the price but if I was going to buy a new intake I would go with the Holly.

great intake, have it on my car.

if you open the side, and look in, its not smooth, and the opening for the throttle body is a little narrow, if you can port and polish it, it will improve it alot.

i also use it for my nitrous, spraying from infront of the throttle body with a fogger, and it does good.

i use it, im pleased with it. a guy from professional products emailed me a dyno chart of a 100% stock mustang, emissions and all. all they did was swap to the typhoon intake and 65mm tb/egr and they picked up 14hp. not bad for ONLY an intake swap.

I was a bit sceptical of Professionl products parts until a few customers started showing up at my shop wanting me to do installs after they had a booth set up at the good guys car show here. What they are are basicly copies of edelbrock stuff for the most part and good copies at that. The ports line up well to gaskets and perform great. Sometimes a little rough around the edges but some of their polished stuff looks really good. The only head to head comparison I've ever done personally was on a 468 cubic inch Chevy where we changed out a Edelbrok Victor Jr to try a PP Hurricane intake. The intakes were nearly identical but the Hurricane made 4 hp more than the Victor Jr with absolutly no other changes other than the intake swap. From everything I can tell they are well made, perform great and priced right.

I put one of their Typhon intakes on my wifes 2003 GT with a 4.6 and it picked it up 12hp (they advertize 22) but the car was well modded before the intake swap. It was a worthwhile swap for sure and anything to help the 4.sick is a good thing. They have good stuff for the money. I'm pretty impressed with all their stuff so far. Another few years they will become a real player. They are beating on the door now.

Not to hyjack the thread, but what do you guys think about the holley 300-72S upper and lower intake kit? Is that a decent intake and/or better than the typhoon/edelbrock rpm kits?

I run a Typhoon on mine as well. No problems out of it for almost 5 years now.

i am using a PP typhon and it seemed to make good enough power to 5500.
i am installing trick flow heads and a holley 300-72S with a FRPP X-303 cam. I will let you all know the results as soon as Fomoso open up. my best with the PP setup was 13.85 @ 98+ on a 1.88 60' launch.

the intake and pheonlic spacer + 1.7 crane rockers will be for sale by mid-january, if i can figure out how to post pix by then.
