Default How wide?

Putting in the new 8.8 3.73 31 spline with new upper and lowers UPRs. Need to know what size tire i can fit back there. I have a 1989 vert with pony rims what will fit 255/50R16 or can i put 265/50R16? Or am i going to be stuck with the 245/50R16.

With some massaging and proper wheel offset you ca put in a 315 Alot of guys run 275s with no problems.

So i can go with the 275s with no problems? Is that over kill or will the 265s be ok? I want to hook with the clutch out roll then full throttle and maybe here the tires bark a little. That's what happens now with the 2.73 and a tire size of 225/50R16 hankook v4es.
Any rpm above 1000 with the clutch to the Floor and release slowly with the gears i have now white smoke city. I like to have my clutch out before i floor it.. I hook pretty good that way.

YOU guys need to read a little closer!!!.........he can not fit 275's and sure as shiz can't fit 315's on PONY rims............since you have pony rims 255/50/16's is the widest you can get on the rear with little to minimal tail pipe rub while cornering......it was a tight fit on my friends 89 gt with 255's but it worked and yes he had pony rims too

Like I said, with the proper wheel offset an backspace you can get 315's. Like the 17 inch pony r's.

Probably with some good amount of sidewall bulge.
