Default front spring question

will the front springs off a '96 fit my 89? friend has a set of drag springs off his 96 that he's not using. said i could have them for free.

not sure. he had them on his until he did a coil over conversion. i'll have to ask him tomorrow. said they worked gr8 with his 70/30 shocks. and thats what i have so, i'm hoping they'll be better than the stock ones i have on it now.

just called him he said they are Granatelli's. said he ran them for a while and they helped the front launch really quickly.

im almost 100% positive Granatelli only makes coilover springs for suspension. i didnt think they had coil springs for our style car. i even looked on their website to make sure. i cant find them at least. summit, jegs or Granatelli's website.

yeah i looked also. but he said he's had them for awhile. dont know if they stopped makein just the spring and went with coil overs only. he's gonna bring them to work tomorrow anyway.

they are a set of ground pounder springs. they will work nicely with my comp engineering adj. front drag shocks. and as an added bonus he gave me a set of stage 8 locking header bolts. looks like i can take the wire locks off.

and dude, i hate bustin your ***** but ground pounder springs are also coilover springs...

well, heres a pic of the springs. the yellow one is the one i had and the red one is the ground pounder.



i think i'll prob keep the yellow springs. they are about 3/4" shorter than the reds.

i was wrong the front struts are 90/10 the rear shocks are 3 way adj.

oh weird, the only ground pounders ive ever heard/seen were coilovers and i even poked around on the internet a little bit to make sure i wasnt crazy.
