Default which do you like

hey guys, im in the process of getting rid of my 03 and in the market for a 5.0 but i cant make up my mind if i should go with a fox, or a sn95????? which do you guys like better? im leaning towards the fox cause it lighter, and it seems parts for it are a lil cheaper than the sn95 for whatever reason, especially turbo kits

When I was looking for a mustang I was looking for a fox or a SN-95. I end up with a 94 gt. I am glad I got that instead of a fox. I personally believe that the SN-95 is a little better looking car. From what I have heard the sn-95 is 40lbs heavier than a gt fox mustang. The sn-95's came with a strut tower brace, k-member brace, 5 lug wheels, 3g alternator, rear disk brakes and a electric fan (alot of the popular mods for a fox). Some have the mach 460 stereo, and keyless entry. I personally would not turn down a nice fox though. What ever you decide to buy check for rust in the shock tower/ frame rail area. Alot of mustangs around where i live are rusted bad in there.

I was in the same boat. I wanted a 5.0, and I most certainly wanted a Fox for the same reasons you mentioned. However, I ended up deciding on an SN95 due to the reason that Ford Tough mentioned. My GT came equipped with the Mach 460 sound system and the keyless entry. After having keyless entry, you'll never want otherwise. The 40 pounds can easily be made up by removing the rear seats and/or converting the stock seats to racing-type seats.

The driver seat in my GT is fully electric adjustable and all the extra hardware marks up the weight considerably for the unit. Definitely consider replacing the stock driver seat with a lighter racing-type seat to shed some pounds off the pony if you do end up with fully electric adjustable.

Besides, an SN95 looks damn sweet and there's so much more in the way of body kits and external styling still available on the market.

i was in the same boat, but i really like the look of a clean SN95. Some people say that 94-95 5.0's will not respond to mods as good as a 87-93 fox, personally i dont care if its true or not i wasnt in the midst of building a race car. Like previuoslly stated though you get alot more options in sn95 cars then foxes, sometimes its also hard to find a fox thats clean and hasnt had the crap beat out of it. its all going to come down to you though, as we are just giving OUR opinions and thoughts to YOU the purchaser

And yes i have paid a LITTLE more for mods then some fox mods, but at the most the difference was not much, or at least not enough for me to think i should have gotten a fox instead

The majority of fox parts will fit a SN-95.

I like the fox look. the 94-98 just doesn't look like a sports car IMO. +fox's are becoming harder and harder to find that are in good shape!

The frame of an SN95 is stiffer and has less roll than a Fox body. Sure, you can stiffen up a Fox real nice, but you have to buy aftermarket parts for it to match up to the SN95's rigidity. A couple decent components (subframe connectors and tubular members) is all the SN95 really needs to be extra rigid and awaiting the increased torque from any mods you'll do to the motor. However, be ready to fight a cramped engine bay of an SN95.

It's just my personal preference of an SN95, but it's hard to beat the distinguishing feel/form of a great-running Fox.

I love my fox but I have grown fond of my 98DD. This is why I am swapping sn interior into my fox for that "feel".

I would shop around for the best deal on a Fox body and a '94/95...then you can narrow down pros and cons for each car!

I love the Fox body, but love the 4 wheel disc brakes on the '94/95....both pretty simple to work on...
