Doubt?

When I take my fox out to a cruise, show or just joy ride (it's a weekend cruiser). I always tell my wife to keep her cell on, in case I blow something and get stranded. She's had to rescue me more then once with some of my previous rides (non-Fox)! I am fortunate to have a good buddy of mine who is a master mechanic, with a lift at his house. But the more you mod and tweak these cars, the more you risk breaking.
Everytime you turn the key you are one step closer to breaking something. You just have to accept and feel at ease that thing can and will break. If you can't get comfortable with that performance isn't your game. I can't remember anytime I took my last Chevelle to the track that something didn't have to be replaced. When you add mega power and a set of slicks and a well set up suspension things break. While I don't like stuff breaking I'm always aware it the price of perfomance
I'm a little more at ease than I was yesterday. so far in my plans I dont see myself doing anything with this motor, unless I use the block for a stroker... she is running great and I dont feel like messing with it..
everything else tho, is up for fair game...

I feel nervous every time I hit the key in my car. If it doesn't excite you a little bit every time you get in the car, it's time to hang up the keys and try something else. Even though I have doubts about the cars integrity, I don't really care if it comes apart today or next year. I love the feeling it gives me when I mash the skinny pedal. I wouldn't trade it for nothing in the world. Except for a few million dollars so I could build/buy an outlaw 10.5W car. I want the car, but would run slow times in it, just because those quality of cars are amazing to to look at, much less watch go down the track.
I really don't worry about things breaking in my cars (all of them are fords so maybe thats why
) but it is other peoples motors that I have rebuilt that I worry about, especially the srt4 motor I did this last summer. I'm afraid the guy is gonna throw some hellacious boost at it and something will go. It's not my work that I worry about, its my lack of knowledge about the particular vehicle. I did his motor by going thru the shop manual.
Although everytime I would gun it down the interstate I would hang on for dear life hoping one of my tires don't blow when I am cruising at 100mph.

yeah...every now and again when I slam the gears down a back road afterward I'm like...
"uh...dang...does my car sound different...Don't be broken! Don't be broken!"
lol...and I don't even have mods.
