Default Something a li'l different

Well I just thought I'd share the current winter project me and my uncle have been working on. Something a little different for the 5.0 section I suppose. Engine came out of a 1990 GT. It's been balanced and blueprinted, bored .30 over heads been port and polished, edelbrock performer rpm intake, holley 650 carb, b303 cam. After I got done the engine beds we slapped in the engine right quick, hooked up the jet, reversed the headers (as seen) and ran them pipes just so we could go for a quick ride, see what she'd do. Since the pictures we've finished the deck, put in a hatch, finished the engine box and fuel beds, got the marine manifolds on which run to a dual 3" wetflow exhaust going out the back. Dimensions of her are 9' at the stern and 21' at the tip of the bow. Gps'd at 55 mph.... know it's not that fast, but it is for the water and you wouldn't believe how quick it gets there!

I'd expect a little more than 55 out of that motor in a boat, but 55 isn't to bad on water. I figured something closer to 65

Ya, unfortunately the jet's a little too small so we're not quite taking in enough water. Thinking of maybe marglacing a small tapered rim around the end of the nozzle to create more pressure as the water's being pushed out therefore hopefully creating more thrust. All just a learning curve when you start from absolutely nothing and build up from ideas.

Do you mind me asking how it is you pull out that number? Just kinda wondering what information or experience you'd have to suggest that..
