Accelarting Problems!

Unhappy Accelarting Problems!

I have 90 lx 5.0 auto and every time i floor pedal, either from a complete stop or while rolling, my car tends to not want to catch gear. it start popping and doesn't want to accelerate. It seems like its misfiring or something. has anyone had this problem before?

Does it feel like the tranny slipping, or something in then engine? Is the tach jumping around?

Actually mine is doing the exact same thing except mine's a manual. I've been tryin' to figure this problem out for a while. Hopefully someone can help us out.


edit-- It's not from the tranny, at least i don't think anyway.

when was the car's last tune up (Plugs, cap, rotor, wires, fuel filter, etc.)?

Give the car a tune up, check your fuel system as well, check the TPS (throttle position sensor) those tend to be a problem with these cars. Even tho ud notice that more at idling as well.

Check for codes. When was the last time it had a tune up?

the last time i did a tune up was a year ago, other than regular oil changes. I havent had a chance to check to the MAF sensor. the tach doesn't jump around and I checked the timing. it's like im going and then when i want to punch it, that car doesn't wants to stall. its hard to explain.
