Default Suspension question

I just got back from replacing my rear tire and it looks like one of the springs in the rear is cracked. I use the car as a daily driver as I am a poor college kid and I was curious to what type of springs people are running. Im just curious because the roads up here suck and I dont want an overly stiff ride. What do you guys think?

you can get springs for cheap. aftermarket ones are usually progressive which will help with the ride. i'm using h and r. they're great.
