Red face Wiring Hell!!!

I wont make this a drawn out description just short and simple. The Guy I bought my pony from swapped out a 4cyl turbo(FI) and put in a 302 carb'd. Instead of doing things the right way, remove all the unused turbo wires and computer and such, he decided a better way would be to cut all the harnesses off and leave the wires just chillin under the hood (facepalm). Now me being a little OCD looked at that and said "**** no", so now I am blessed with the opportunity to completely strip all bad stuff from under the hood. I am just forewarning everyone here I may be posting some questions about wires I cant figure out. I have a Chiltons but im not to smart when it comes to wiring diagrams. Wish me luck on the adventure I am about to undertake. I will post some before and after photos soon. I think I should be able to get it done within the next week or 2.

grab a test light a check to see which wires have current on them and from there you'll know what needs to come out

Hey MJR, do I need the computer? it looks like all the wires that ran to it are just cut and left dangling. I cant think of any system in my car that the computer would control. the only things needing power that I cant think of are fuel pump, starter solenoid, electric choke, headlights, taillights, gauges... stuff like that. Do you think I can just pull the computer and back out all the wires that are connected to it?

just make sure you pull the correct wires and make sure that no light harness or blinkers etc. run into the cluster of wires your taking out or cut out.

thanks for the warning. I am using my Chiltons as a road map for what wires run into the ecu. I am cutting open every wire loom and removing all the tape on all the wires so I can trace them anywhere they go.
