Default 2.25 vs 2.5 exhaust

Well here is my situations. I have an 87 mustang lx with stock pipes and an H pipe installed. I want to get more sound out of it so im going to put on some new headers, but im not convinced its worth upgrading my entire exhaust system to 2.5 inch pipe when i can throw new mufflers on and save some cash. What would you all do?

Personally, I would get the 2.5 kit. It's not only bigger, but the kits have smooth and mandrel bends. A 2.5 exhaust sets a great foundation for future mods down the road. However, if $$ is a concern and you want to improve the sound, then adding the mufflers to the stock exhaust will work fine.

Id look at the exhaust clip thread on this site there are so many options and its a matter of personal preference.

^^^^Flows FTW! To the OP, the Pypes catback is pretty cheap, is durable(409ss vs aluminized steel) and sounds good.

Personally, I'd advise against flowmasters, not because I don't like them, but because EVERYONE has them. I just like to sound a little different than the rest.
