Default back from the track

i went the track again last night. i took a really old set of slicks this time hoping theyd hook better then my et streets. long story shorty they didnt. here are my times

60'...1.707
330...4.751
1/8...7.255
MPH...95.17

60'...1.785
330...4.844
1/8...7.351
MPH...95.00

60'...1.770
330...4.879
1/8...7.412
MPH...94.43

as you can see, every pass it got slower. every pass i lowered tire pressure trying to hook harder off the line. one problem im having is my rear shocks are too soft, i know this because the rear end is squating so bad i have a ring around both tires where the rear fender came down an sat on it while the tires were spinning. cut a nice little groove all around the tire. i havent checked my data logger but on the last pass i happen to glance at it and it was at 10:1 afr so i know its running rich. every pass i spun the slicks, im hoping minor suspension adjustments and some better tires will help, im not a fan of hoosier. i dont think my limited slip liked the slicks, i think its time for spool.

but on the plus side, i did run .10 second faster then ive ever gone before. 7.25 is in the 11.3 quarter mile time range so thats good. and a quick funny story from last night, i was set to race a honda that was a purpose built race car. guy said he runs consistant high 6's so my buddy started telling me i was going to get beat. i said i had a chance if his car broke on the line. the guys pulls up to the line, revs it to the moon, dumps his clutch and BOOM, busted his motor. what are the odds? lol

Yeah video ftw...

Where's the closest 1/4 mile to you?

I was kind of waiting for the honda to get its *** handed to it by you, but the engine failure will do, ha!

the nearest quarter mile track is about 45 miles away but they only have it open about 10 times a year and when it is open its so packed your lucky to get 2 passes if your there for 8 hours so i never go.

im running strange shocks/struts on all 4 corners, the rears are set to 5 so i think i need to try 6 (or 4, whatever makes it stiffer). running stock rear springs.

i had the video camera with me but after how bad the first run went i didnt feel like recording anything

well stock springs are the better compromise there..don't do what i did and get eibach drag springs<they tend to fight your adjustments.

since your car is heavier than my fox,and i'm sure you are using different upper/lowers than me.

i was hitting the rear tires at setting 5 and by the end of the night i was at setting 7,but i was using junk bfg's and my 60's were 1.7's and worse the more i tried to launch harder.

ya im not a fan of the drag launch springs. they are different rate springs (stiffer on the right) which is bad for my anti-roll bar which holds the body solid so it cant twist off the line
