Default Efan question

A friend of mine bought an efan for his RX7. It's out of a 94 lincoln, not sure if it was a markVIII or a Continental, does it matter?

Anyways, it has a three prong plug on it and we are trying to figure out what's high and what's low. I read somewhere that the high side is a thicker wire and the low side thinner. I have the diagram to wire it up to a 3 way switch, can anyone tell me which color wire the high side is because there are two thick wires and one little one.

On the Taurus fan I got, the blue wire was the high speed, the black was ground and the last wire(can't remember the color right now) was low.

The blue wire was the biggest gauge wire as well.

Ok we got the high and low figured out, he's going to run a 3 way switch for hi-off-low and a bosch relay for each speed, what amp rating should the switch be?

Switch doesnt need to be a huge amp switch. The relays are going to take all the load instead. The switch will see milliamps but the relays are gonna see about a 100amp spike on the high side for a few milliseconds when its kicked on. Low side it should spike around 70amps. The relays should be 70amps high and I think it is like 40amps low.

I got all this info from a buddy who did this install and his works fine. Make sure to put an inline fuse so you dont fry your relays or wiring, fuses are cheap relays are not. Best bet is to get the relays from the same year Lincoln that he got the fan from and as much wiring as you can.

This is just stuff I have been told by my buddy who did it and a few forum posts I have read.

Good luck
