you're close. yea you want 0* maybe 1/2* postitive pinion angle just for variance in the road. but thats when suspension is under load(WOT) otherwise to compensate for that you must set your pinion angle to 2* lets say. that way when you launch you are hopnig your rear squats only 1.5* to 2* max putting your drive train at .5*-0*(from rear of the crank to your rear end under WOT conditions.)

if your pinion angle goes negative your tires unload. if you have too much positive pinion angle your car want to lift more than go(poor 60's...bogging stuff like that) but the closer you are to 0* under full load the quicker you get off the line and up to speed with minimal efforts.

and its not just pinion angle that does all this. there are about 3 major compnents for great 60's but pinion angle is the deciding factor for dead hooking vs. wheel hop/spinning and you wanna ride the line on that one. (fun fact: funny cars and top fuelers spin their wheels down the entire 1320 if you watch in slow motion every 1/16th-1/8th turn of the tire actualy slips on the pavement. they are literally walking a tight rope between smokin the tires and hooking)

just do some reading up on setting pinion angle and how to set up for good 60' launches. you'll learn alot and when you actually play around with it in real life, wow do you learn a lot. you actually start to understand the physics of it and how it actually feels. when you understand how it works you know how to make it better

You do not want 0 deg. It will promote a wear pattern in the u joint cups. 1 or 2 deg is ideal and 6 is borderline going to vibrate.

I'd also like to know. I've been messing with my angle from between neg2-neg4 and can't seem to get that perfect hook. I also have relocation brackets and some beefy LCA's so I'm guessing the squat is all but non existent. I may need to adjust mine even closer to 0...
