Default DTC Tool

well I decided it would be a good idea to buy a DTC tool to pull and see what kind of codes my mustang has set, if any. i would like to get a tool that describes the code (not just the number) and can clear out the codes. i have never bought one before and would like some advice as to which one would be best. its for an 88 GT w/ stock computer (n sct chip)

a scan tool with code description will most likely cost you more than it will benifit you and your needs, the diy koer is the best bang for the buck for the at home do it yourselfer = doesn't cost you any money just some time on the net
