So last night a put a deposit on a semi-polished upper and lower cobra intake for my car. And tonight Im goin to pick it up I think. I got it for a nice deal, $175 with intake gaskets, spacer, and throttle body gasket. So what kinda power differance should I expect with this intake? Whats the differance between the GT-40P and this intake?

i thought the cobra intake is the same as the gt40 intake

 

there is no "p" intake. just "p" heads. the cobra intake is identical to the explorer intake

 

except the cobra looks so much more badass

semi-polished...its not liked the polished cobra intake, but its cleaned up and hand polished, so it doesnt have a crazy nice shine but its decent. Also it is hand ported as well. So what kinda power differance should I expect?

 

depends how good it was ported but usually between 10 and 15hp without heads or cam.

 

hand ported usuially is a nice way to sell to suckers, tends to hurt power

 

Whats wrong with "hand ported"? Would you prefer it to be foot ported?



You can hurt power "hand porting" your heads if you **** it up, but its hard to do that with an intake unless you get REAL carried away. Especially one like a GT-40 style intake.
