So basically i'm trying to talk my brother into selling his 2000 Acura GSR for a 5.0, he said he had considered it and if he did buy any it'd be the sn-95 bodystyle. His car made 211whp and should be good for a high 12 second 1/4 mile all motor on a sticky tire, and is still a great daily.
I'm trying to figure out the practicality of having a 12 second daily driven 5.0. How much do the pushrods pick up from H/C/I? what are some of my choices, and how much would they run me/him? Would an e-303 cam($3-$350right?) be too mild for a 12 second car? I've heard good things about GT-40 heads and AFR heads, how much do these run and how much power improvement would a stock 5.0 see? How bout intake choices? i see alot of 5.0s running the cobra intake or a trickflow. I've done some minor work on a 5.0 including a cam swap, roller rockers, replacing thermostat, timing components, etc so it will all be labor free. Tell me what i'm looking at! Please and thank you, oh and what seems to be the going rate for sn-95 5.0s these days?

oh the car will have 4.10s, that were supposed to go into my car (sig) but i'm going with some milder gears.

 

Some more guys will chime in about specific engine parts but you can pick up a decent sn for around 3500 to 5500.
