My buddy has been talking junk since I bought my car a couple weeks ago and wants to go to the local drag strip to "show me up"..He has a 94 Gt with the 5.0, with a e-303 cam,24lbs injectors I "think",3:73 gear but his motor has about 100,000 miles and has been sprayed before and a stock 5 speed.. I have a 90 GT with a fresh 306..Pretty much stock, heads have been shaved a little, 2 1/2" flowmaster exhaust from the header back, k&n cold air intake and I have a 3:08 gear with a stock 5 speed..From driving the 2 my car actualy feels stronger but you know how that goes.. What are some quick easy bolt ons that I can order or some tricks I can use just to help out a little?? anything simple that can help cause I wanna make him shut his mouth

 

The only quick trick that'll shut him up is a 75 shot otherwise I can't see you having a chance. "Fresh" 306 or not, you still only have stock parts and sh!tty 3.08's to boot. Slap in a set if 4:10's and if you can drive and he can't, maybe you'll have a chance but otherwise don't get your hopes up. IMO

Quick tricks... ummm
-take out the passenger light
-delete a/c & smog
-take out rear and passenger seats
-take out spare tire
-run with as minimal gas as needed


...If you really wanna beat him change your gears and do an h/c/i..

 

depends on your budget, but I'd get a little sneaky pet for him..lol

 

I always hear horror stories about nitrous, would a little sneak peak be bad on it? like i said, its mainly stock

 

a sneaky pete kit is like at most a 30-40 shot...you'll be fine even the 100 shot kits are fine.....the problem with NO2 is people get greedy...that's where the horror stories come from

 

Ive just never sprayed anything and Im new at owning a mustang..Ive only had one for about 3 weeks now..Im still trying to learn the tricks and the trades if you know what I mean

 

nitrous isn't all that bad, just addicting!!!

Unless you get some gears in that thing he's going to beat you like a red headed step child. The thing you want to do is go out of town to have the gears done and throw in a Nitrous kit (100shot) and don't tell anyone (not even the dog) and when track day comes bust his bubble. I use to have guys drive 125 miles to have gears and Nitroius installed on their day off just so their friends wouldn't know anything about it. Learning to keep things under wraps are the secret to opening up the can of whoop azz on your buddies.
