Tint Question
This is probably a pretty obvious NO.
But, I have a small damaged section of my rear window tint, bout half the size of a dime that somehow got removed. Prob from when I was moving some clothes in a laundry basket a hanger scratched it, who knows.
Are there any nifty ways to fix this without replacing the whole sheet of tint? I can think of some ways to cover it up from the outside looking in, but then I would have a big spot on the window when looking out from in.
Thanks.

VHT makes spray window tint...you could use it as a temporary patch, but really you should replace it. i tint windows and i've also used the VHT window tint version...its crap...
however the lens tint for the headlights and tails lights...its the schlitz. i love it!

Oh well, it's not really that significant, at max half the size of a dime. Barely noticeable actually. Maybe later on down the road when I'm bored and can't think of anything else to spend money on I'll have it replaced.
What I have always done to cover small bad spots in a pinch is to use a sharpe or magic marker. Works really good for when you trim the tint too short.....done that a few times
And about that tint in a can stuff, is it just me or is it not shinny? I have been using tinted clear and sparying it on with a gun and it seems to have the best results IMO...that is what I did on those headlights Kyle, just put one or 2 too many coats on.

spray the window with soapy water (outside) take some tinting film and lay it out on the outside of the window. (make sure the actual tint film is touching the glass, and the plastic backing is on top)
cut a square out that is slightly larger than your damaged area
leave it on the outside of the window,go inside the car and use a sharp (new) razor blade and trace that piece into the old tint.
remove the old tint from where you cut. remove all old glue, and clean the area with a NON AMMONIA BASED CLEANER! <-- very important
grab the tint square from the outside of the window, spray down the inside where you cleared the area. peel off the backing and spray the sticky side of the tint. (this washes off any dust that it might grab)
put it on, smooth it out while holding it in place, you will have to be gentle.
I have found the best way to do the initial smoothing is with a credit card wrapped with paper towel.
once its nice and smooth, use JUST the card to smooth it. then leave it be for a few days!

yea it is flat finish. on these after i tinted them i wet sanded 600 grit and then sprayed with a gun, semi gloss clear. its hard to tell in the pictures but it has a little sheen.
i may do it over again with high gloss so it looks more natural.
SOrry, I wasn't knockin you, I think you lights look right. You are going to go flat black paint anyway, so I think shiney lights might look funny!
