Default oil temp gauge...question

I recently got my new autometer gauges in and have 3 of the 4 installed. I have water temp, oil pressure, and fuel level installed but have a question on the oil temp. Is there a port in the block somewhere the oil temp can hook up to or do you have to drill a hole in the oil pan?

Edit-- It is a '90 LX if that makes any difference.

Thanks for any help fellas

oil temp??? you'll have to drill in the pan, oil temp is kind of a useless thing to monitor, in an auto tranny, temp would be a valuable figure to monitior

If the engine is running cool the oil will be cool as well.

Drill a hole in the oil pan, weld a bung in and install the sending unit

might wanna remove the pan if your gonna be welding on it ......also put grease on the drill bit to keep metal shavings as best as possible from going into the pan when bit punches through if you decide to attempt all without removing pan.

I would think if he has any knowledge he would be smart enough to remove the pan before doing this useless and wasteful mod.
