carb question

Default carb question

would a holley 650 double pumper be to much for a gt40p 302 with taylor 409 wires, headers, 289 edlebrock performer intake?if so or not any other good ones that wont break my wallet or budget

I'd say you would be fine with a 600 but I wouldn't go with the double pumper 650

Nope.... a 650 will work, if you have an automatic transmission, a vacuum secondaries would work better on the street though. LUK

im goin t5 mainly bc a stall wouldnt be to fun on the street.....im not sure if the double pumper would be to much or not

you would be better off with a 600 unless you detune the 650 dp

what other carbs are out there for about the same price and quality?

I've used a 700 cfm DP for years on my 302 junk and have worked on other 302's with 750's. Tune it right (as with any other size carburetor) and it will work fine, most of the times better than a 600 cfm.

A 650DP is fine on a mild 302, like Joel said just tune it right. Preferably something with adjustable air bleeds, but if not then at least something with downleg boosters, or annular would be better. But even a crap straight leg booster 650DP would work well on a manual street car.
