I think Stang Suspension offers the removal tool, I believe that tool also re-installs the bushings with the proper depth. Did mine with a buddy and we used an air chisle to get them out. We installed the new ones by carefully/slowly tapping them in using a socket large enough to catch the collar. In hind sight, I souldn't have been so cheap and just bought the tool.

Use a chisel and hammer to crush the bushing into itself... basically reducing its diameter at the rear end housing ear. While crushing it, also hit the bushing on the metal lip going around the one side. It's damn easy to remove without any tools.
As long as you dont paint the inside of the ear(if you were painting the housing) installation is really easy.
If you are worried about proper placement ... just get a tape measure and check it's location relative to the ear(the ear I'm referring to is the metal on the housing that the bushing sits in).
The only thing you don't want to do when reinstalling them is hitting the inner sleeve, if you do you risk the posibility of tearing the rubber immediately around the sleeve. Use a piece of wood or somthing that distrubutes the force. Or do what the previous poster said and use a socket or somthing. It's not hard, be creative.
Mid as well get polyurethane bushings while your in there...

polys are not a good idea for rear upper arms because the uppers need to be able to flex. go to maximummotorsports and read all about themt there. i bought the tool and it made it much much easier. i recommend buying the tool. ford makes a bushing for the diff side uppers that is a bit stiffer but doesnt bind.

sweet thanks
yeah the dummy that owned the car before me did a lot of lets say low quality mods one of which was painting over the bushings while painting the raerend! i appreciate all the feedback i may need to heat it up it is being difficult. oh yeah the previous owner also when painting the car painted over all the window moldings i had a guy come out to replace my windsheild and he said no way bc if he removed the trim around the window it would peel the paint.....

Polys are not a good idea on the body side, axle side is a different story.
I'm using the poly axle bushings and the ford UCA's with the stiffer rubber(with a stiffener welded in).
