Default I found whats causing my problem

The gears look to be in great shape hopefully they arent damaged. Where would that metal have come from?

So the bolt that got lodged in the gear was one of the bolts that holds the ring gear in place. Whoever installed these gears did something wrong becasue almost all of them were a few turns from coming out.

The gears appear to still be in good shape. I rotated the wheels and didnt notice any resistance at all. Do the bolts just need to be torqued correctly or will this be more involved? I know gear installs are tricky

If you can get a wrench in there to torque them down then I don't see why you wouldn't have a problem tightening them. But you may have to/still want to disassemble the rear (not completely) so you can properly torque them down. Shouldn't be really all that hard.

Ok cool. Any idea on the torque specs?

75 ft lbs, but that happened because my bet is they did not loctite them in, you must use loctite on them, preferrebly blue loctite

Ok will do. I hope the gears arent in too bad of shape. There is a small chip in one of the pinion gears, when I hand turn it everything seems find but i guess ill have to find out about high speeds
