Is that timing safe for my 87 to run? If so what kind of gas do I use?

advancing your timing will only add power to a certain point. Anything past 15° usually makes no difference in power

Im at aprox 17* now. Still going to play w it. I run 93 when tuning timing, but will try running 87, some people say run a lower octane cause thats what these cars are made for, but someone else says 93 or high octane is needed when advanced timing.

Im no mechanic by far, but I was reading around and I got two different answers, some said run low octane (87), some said run 93. I think you can run 87 on the car if you want to, but Ive always run 93, and last I heard you should run higher octane if your car is advanced. Thats what Im doing now.

ok thanks you guys. I also heard if you run 87 with advanced timing, you get pre ignition. What happens during pre ignition?
