Default first notchback and need some help

hey im new to the 5.0 engine and need a little assistance in whats a good way to start off and how i could check if the engine is ready to have additional parts added on. right now its mostly stock and has size 275 tires in the back and i think about the same in the front. it has the fr500's deep dished and and the front are regular. i wanna do headers but im not sure on the size.(ie. 1 5/8) if anyone can give a good setup on what they have exhaust wise that would be great. as far as tires, whats a good size that would fit the 17x9's? i heard 245's are a good size. what kind of plugs and wiring?it has an eibach kit on it as well.any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

This thread is worthless w out pics! lol

I use just reg ol motorcraft wires, but my engine is stock.

I may try ford racing wires later, or MSD, but Im not sure my car will be better off w a higher $$ wires.

I am thinking FRPP shorty headers for my car, eventhough they say a longtube header is best for performace, its just that it takes more work to fit them, and I think I would have to change my exhuast around.

best things to do right away are these...

1) 4.10 gears (check your door tag if your still stock... m=2.73, z=3.08 , and e= 3.27(aod only))
2) long tube 1 5/8's , 2 1/2" catback of whatever you want, i currently run all mac, headers prochamber and catback
3) sticky tires... MT drag radials are best
4) nitrous (75-100 shot wet or dry is fine)

do all this and you'll run 12's

Word! i woulden't go with dry though, make sure you get a window switch I would just slap some aluminum heads on and work your way up.

Dont need pics to answer this part; when I get a "new car" haa ha FTFW I will never buy a new car they ALL suck! The first thing I do is go over the braking system. Complete flush of fluid and check of all parts. Thats just me but I challange anyone to say its a bad idea!

Next change ALL the fluids. ALL. This will get you involved with the car and you will acertain its condition as a by-product. You change the rear diff fluid and notice shavings etc change the fluid AND filter (if auto I dont think you said!) for the trans and pay attention you will notice things such as trans brace if wasted ect...

You could get a LEAK DOWN test for the engine to determine suitability for power adder, if the cylinders pressures are VERY different from each other you might have a time bomb on a short fuse without any hop-ups.... I suggest going throught the car as in an audit. Yes audit your car when you first buy a used car its a damn good idea
