GT vs LX
You know, we are discussing GT's vs LX's. But why not the 94-95 GT vs. GTS. Not many people know about them, but they are similar to the LX's of the fox body generation. The GT'S' stands for "stripped" and was actually called a GTS on the invoice. It consisted of deleted fog lights and rear wing. It came with the base 16" rims, no ABS, no interior trunk release, V6 sport seats(not even electric, unlike the V6's), plastic steering rim, standard 80 watt sound system and no cruise control. However, many of these options could be added. When everything was said and done, the GTS weighed about 100lbs less than a standard GT and carried an invoice of just over $17,000(The GT was over $19,000). Plus, only 6,800 GTS's were made, so they are relatively rare. Although this is a GT vs LX debate, I thought this to be comparable to the GT vs. GTS.

When I bought my 1990 LX 5.0 hatchback back in 1990 I got the LX because I liked the sleeper look. If you knew cars, you could spot them due to the dual exhaust and big fat rear tires. Or the 5.0 badge on the sides.
Ford got rid of the GTS and replaced it with 248A package from '96-'98. Probably what you have, pretty much the same thing as the GTS and just as rare. http://www.yellowmustangregistry.com/Production96.html
Thanks alot. I was always griping because of how cheap it is, not anymore. Finding rare mustangs must be in my blood, my dad had a 69 Mach 1 with a 390 in it lol.
I just fully confirmed it. GT2 body code, V6 Manual Drivers seat, no spoiler, no fog lamps, cheap radio, no ABS, 16" rims, etc.

I checked out your site. VERY impressive! You've done an incredible job with your '89. My biggest gripe about those years were the tail lights (on the GT's) so I love what you did with yours...
