ive come to the conclusion that the my idle problem is off in my car, the guy i got it from says he advanced the timing and i think he may have done it to far, what is the stock setting for the timing for our 5.0 and what is the most it can be advanced or retarded and still run and idle good, all i have is a cai o/r/h/p msd ignition flowmasters and 2 1/2" exhaust

10 degrees is stock, most set it between 13-15 base with spout out

 

every car is different. I run my 93 at 14* on 89 octane. No pinging what so ever. But like I said, don't trust anyones words but your own, check your timing yourself and adjust to what gas you use in your car. The higher octane the more timing you can run... sometimes its not really worth it though to up the type of gas that you use for a few more degrees. Gas is to god damn expensive.

 

You can't run any more than 10* if you have run 87 octane gas.
