Default First time 5.0 owner, what mods to get

First time 5.0 owner, 5-speed 1992 LX all stock. Owned a couple of Lightnings before and had the mod bug with them. This car will be a weekend cruiser, not a race track fixture. Looking to do some basic mods and was looking to experienced owners for opinions.
1) Headers-Short or Long/H or X pipe
2) Lowering springs-Eibach?
3) Gear selection- 3.55?
4) Mild cam in the future

Any suggestions will be appreciated

3.55's or 3.73's are a good cruiser gear for a 5-speed. Shorty headers are an easier install and there is less hassle with them when doing work later. Look to delete the smog stuff if you don't have emissions testing. Another thing often overlooked is brakes. I know your not looking to make huge power that you need to stop right away but fox brakes were never that good from the factory.

aluminum heads, that will make the best difference, I would say do that or a 5 lug conversion, if you dont have too much $ than get full exhaust

exhaust, gears, suspension(springs, struts, shocks, control arms, sub frame connector, poly bushings all the way around.)

do it in that order and you'd have a nice cruiser.

All depends on how much money you wanna spend! but obviously start with the basics.. exhaust, subframes, gears..

Looking at going with shorty headers, any particular brand I should look for? I'm leaning towards MAC

id go long tube headers, off road h or x pipe, free flowing mufflers like magnaflow or borla, full length sub frame connectors, upper and lower control arms, adjustable shocks/struts (strange), u/d's, delete smog, short throw shifter, 3.73's to 4.10's...

have fun!!!

For the exhaust go with the MAC shortie headers, MAC Pro Chamber mid pipe & the MAC Flowpath mufflers

You will not be dissapointed, this setup is sick.Good, good fox-body setup indeed.

exhaust, gears heads cam and intake, if you don't plan to ever race it, I wouldn't worry to much about suspension
