Tint for 3 years + the 10 before I had it (florida car). Only time I got pulled over for it was at 3 am on halloween drivin my drunk friend home. He made a scene, the officer told me to get home before he gets sick in my car.

False, in CA, you can have a 4 inch strip of any darkness on the top of the windshield, i read the laws, and proceeded to break them, lol
as for tint laws, apperently the EPA is demanding that new cars have tinted windows stock, because it retards the rate at which the interior heats up, meaning you need to use less A/C = better emissions, so in theory, Tint=better emissions
