Wheres second?
Ive been driving my car around for two weeks or so and everyone and there brother that has a semi fast car is asking me if i will race them.
So far ive only raced twice. The first one was against a Z28 with a 305 manual. I dumped the clutch and spun the tires more than i wanted to but got out of it and took off, i didnt have any problem getting into second gear but i wasnt revving it out. I beat him pretty good but he says he missed second. i made fun of him and later ate my words.
second race: Nova with a 350 auto. He pulled up next to me and i guess i got excited because his car was so freakin loud. but again i dumped the clutch like and idiot and spun tires. I got it lined and was right with him when i went to grab second i couldnt get it in so i slowed and got it in and lost by a good 10 cars.
When i get on it 1 out of 3 times i will grind second or have a hell of a time getting it in. Normal driving it shifts fine like all the other gears.
What am i doing wrong? Does something need adjusted or is this a T-5 kinda thing. Any help is appreciated. Losing to chevys sucks.

if the problem is only centralized around one gear/ 2nd.....and being second why am I not suprised the prob is there...anyway most likely the blocker ring is worn out on that gear and continuous forced shifts that grind into engaugement by now have destroyed the syncronizer teeth on the gear cone/ hub, upon tranny disassembly most likely you'll find you need blocker rings and a new second gear if the teeth are damaged on the cone

thanks, ill give that a try tommorow.
Im hoping its the clutch or the cable because it acts as though i didnt push the clutch in when i go to shift, i dont know anything but im trying to be positive because i cant afford a new tranny right now. ill look for any cheap fix.
