My new 94
Ok, I bought a 94 gt convertible. The body is great, only paid 800 dollars for it. Runs great only needed a return line fitting on the pwer steering line and a window regulator on the drivers door. It also needed tires, so I've opted to pick up a set of sve 17x9 front and 17x10.5 rears with sumitomos. it was only about 400 dollars more just to pick the whole package up. my question is this, now that I've yapped about the car itself, the stock motor has 207k on it. Stock 5 speed isn't bad, but, I'll replace it when I build the new motor. my question is, I heard the older 302s in the 5.0's had forged pistons from the factory. Is this true? If so, what years. Also, I'm looking to drive this around daily but still want power if I take it to the track. So, my thought is, maybe shoot for around 3-350 to the tires on the street and then do a nitrous system, (wet of course) with like a 125 shot for the races. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm on a SEMI budget. I don't want to use salvage parts all the way or anything, but, I'd like to keep it around a 3k dollar build including trans and all. it's bone stock right now. Any suggestions and help is much appreciated. Thank you!
