ok I know since I own a mustang I shouldn't really care about mpg's but 13 mi. a gallon seems a bit off on my car and kinda rough on the billfold since schools is about 12 miles from the house. what have some of y'all done to help gas mileage
Doing alot of idling will kill your mileage. If I fart around in the garage with mine a lot it only gets about 11 or 12mpg. If I drive it only it will get 17 to 21mpg.
I drive all city and get around 16.5mpg driving moderately. But this is with a NEW mostly stock 5.0 motor. But my S/C Mustang gets around 12.5mpg no matter how I drive. I know adding a cam and a stall decreased my mpg from 15mpg to 13mpg, so the cam could be a possible factor.
You need to fill it up and reset the trip meter. Drive it to about 1/4 tank and refill it. Devide the miles you drove by the gallons you put in. It only holds about 15.6 gallons I believe. So if your gauge is correct, probably not exact, that is 119/7.5= 15.86mpg.
