changing studs on the rear axle
I'm changing the tires on the back of my car today and while I was taking the nuts off on the pass. side and one of the nuts wouldn't come off of the stud with an impact so i got a 1/2" in. ratchet and started turning it and the stud snapped. Now my ques. is, do I have to take out the axle to change the stud?
you shouldn't have to. you might have to remove the brakes, but there should be enough room to wiggle a new one in there.
use a lugnut and a bunch of washers to pull the new one through the axle with your impact. if your lugs are conical on one side and flat on the other, put the flat end towards the washers.
like these.

ok I got it changed, put the new tires on it(245/50s) and it's seriously spinning worse than it was before with the bald tires on it(215/60s) it is sideways in second now. What's up with that?
