Default recommendations for y pipe

So I bought this an 85 mustang and it still has the factory y pipe so I was asking for opinions on removing the factory cats or removing the mufflers and keeping the cats? i want it to sound loud but not annoying loud. I know some of you might say to switch over to an h pipe but till funds start coming in again im stuck with the y pipe. Any opinions and reasons for either would be appreciated.

they is really no market for y-pipes, your only real option is to have one made for you. as far as money goes it would be cheaper the buy an h-pipe/x-pipe/prochamber than having a custom y-pipe made.

my 85 has dual exhaust after the Y-pipe... it leads out of the motor as a Y-pipe then it leads out back from a single entrance to dual exhaust. so do i need the double hump or is it ready for the H-pipe to bolt on??
