tune up
+1 with jkrum10238.
I choose to run stock Ford Motorcraft plugs (no platinums) - you can check out why on this site and the others.
You can test your wires for proper conductivity and keep on using them if they are in good shape.
Also, you can check your PCV (Positive Crankcase Ventilation) Valve for proper function.
Due to their traditional layout, these cars are fairly easy to work on.
Isn't EFI great! This tune up is a cinch, and cheap too. A far cry from the days of points and carbs.
I can recommend to you a very good CHILTON book titled "Ford Mustang 1989-1993 Repair Manual" book no. (8253) 26606. It will walk you through, step by step, with pictures, on how to do all of this stuff. Due to the limited years that it covers, and the fact that it is more comprehensive, the Chilton product is better overall than the competing Haynes book (but hey, I'd buy them both!).
