head ?
i have a 93 lx, with a built 71 302 {T5} with trick flow heads, ported victor jr intake, 280 lunati cam, and a 750 holley AED that been tricked out. my carb has been just freshen up after been sittin for maybe 8 months. it has all msd ignition with no rpm chip.
my problem is whenever u give it a quick throtle it buss up at bout 2g. same thing whenever u drive it. it stalls, and spit at about 2g then u give it more gas then it do the same at about 45g. if you get it to WOT it sputter at 64g.
i need help, just freshen the carb, new fuel filter, new platnum 4 plugs......

before i built the 302, i had a 331 with the same set up with the same plugs..ran perfect. i sold the motor and quit racing. then decided to set it back up for the street. now im having the problem. do u think maybe to much carb ?
too much carb?? no....not tuned right for the now 302 instead of a 331 under it.....most likely yes.........timing needs to be set right, proper rate of advance needs to be tuned in the distributor, to light of advance springs or weights and it'll spudder in the higher rpms, had a 74 302 in my 66 and after I pulled the stock motor and built it up and tried to reuse the stock dizzy without tuning the advance , it fell on it's face and missed like crazy after 4500 rpms........also you'll need to read the plugs and with platnuim plugs it'll be a tad harder to read the electrode and white area, and if it is too rich the platnuims will tend to foul quicker which is why I always use the standard resistor core plug...anyway, you'll need to read the plugs and see if they indicate rich/lean.....also FP should be set to 5.5 to 6.5 psi, off idle hesitations can be lean/flat spots where accelrator pump tuning should take place

man i preciate the info.. i havent put a light on it to time it. just been doing it by ear.. my uncle is the same way and he done it last ( adjust timing ). it never kind of mattered to me decause i had an msd timing adjuster with the ****. and depending if i was racing or cruzing i could adjust it whenever it was needed, especially getting gas from different pumps. so now ill just invest into a light and see what happens.
