Cool I got 900$ to spend, help me gain hp. lol

topic.

as of now i got gt40 heads, all bolt on's, headers, exhaust, gears, and a built tranny.

i got 900$ to spend and was looking for some opinions..

i will NOT be running nitrous. lol

i was thinking of a trick flow track heat intake.. 70mm tb and spacer.. bigger maf? if so what size? any other options/opinions please list.

thanks for looking and your input, Steve.

a trick flow STREET intake would work good, the TRACK intake would not match the heads!

you said you have all bolt on's, so why are you wanting a 70mm throttle body?

If you still have the stock throttle body, get the biggest throttle body that intake will support, i think trickflow intake's go up to 75mm. for a maf, i would go with a 85mm P-mas.

But both of thouse mod's are "bolt on's" so you ether have crap parts you want to replace, or dont have "all bolt ons"

some sticky tires and extra rim's would be a good addition too.

How about sell the heads for $300-$400 which would give you a total of about $1300 to spend. Get some better flowing heads and an intake? If you're keeping the heads then the TF street intake, TB, 75+mm MAF would work. Could also look into roller rockers and an electric fan if you don't have that already.

i agree somewhat with goathead. sell the gt40s for a solid 3-400bucks and buy a REAL set of heads. some new FAC heads some canfields afr's and then buy a nice holley or at least trickflow track heat intake.

Save up alittle more cash and buy a used supercharger kit. That would be your best hp per $.

yea, thats what my buddy did local to me. Thought he was gonna save big.

payed $1,500 in tuning total, ran out of fuel, got the upgrades to support the fuel he needed, and popped a head gasket at 409hp, now he's building a hole new motor (head/cam, .30 over)

After seeing all the grief he has gone through, i wont recommend a supercharger for a "bang for buck" mod ever.
