Hey guys, I'm looking to replace my 93 2.3 notch with a 84 GT 5.0 Vert. Guy's asking 2500 for it and im meeting him tomorow. I was wondering if you guys can give me some more info on the 4eyes, espicially of this year. From googling, I noticed that they took off the hood scoop of all but the turbo gt, this one seems to have a hood scoop. Im assuming its just a replaced hood at one point. Oh and it's an automatic.

Oh and dont worry, the saleen wing is getting painted and that tint is coming off ASAP lol.

 

auto or manual? I think the autos were CFI, not carb....

i would guess that you have an '82 hood on it, in '83 the scoop faced the rear and i think it carried over to '84 as well b4 they ditched it for good, and i'm not sure what availability was as far as having a scoop or not having a scoop

yes the auto version has cfi, hp is rated 165 instead of 175 in the 5-speeds

not sure what else i can tell you... to tell how it was originally post a vin or at least the first 11 characters and i'll break it down for you. the last 6 numbers are just the sequence it was built

the 1FABP is unimportant as well but you can put it in there

also look for the color code in the door tag

thats the 20th anniv year but i doubt it was a anniv edition. those ones were white and burghundy stripes and said "gt350" on the stripes

Thanks guys, yeah its an automatic. The paint is pretty good except the front bumper is torn up pretty well. Inside needs some TLC. The engine bay is a much brighter red than the outside. Interior is also red. I'm gonna go test drive it tomorrow and hopefully bring it home if all seems good. Anything I should look for especially on these older foxes?

 

Are the side skirts stock? They look like saleen sideskirts to me...

i haz 302 with gt40 heads e303 cam and lots of other goodies in the garage. buying this mustang > swapping motor in my notch. much cheaper.

im going to try to keep my notch if its at all possible. i just dont know which one i like better
