Default transmission :(

ok so 2nd gear has been out for a while in my t5. Been driving it still though. I suspect that is the sincro, it goes into 2nd when I triple clutch going very slow...

Now... One cold morning I get up and whenever I push the clutch in it SQUEELS VERY LOUD. it did it a little the 10 minutes I drove it that morning.

Later that day it almost went out. It felt like only half of the clutch was enabled, like it was limp til it was 1/2 way down to the floor. And it squeeled like crazy!!! chirping crickets..

I drove it down the road today, it got so bad the pedal was limp til like 1/8 left and then it all went limp and it would not enable the clutch anymore and i had to park it on the road

THen I kicked the pedal kinda and it kinda recoiled and then i put it in reverse and reversed it the whole way back on my road cuz i didnt want to push my luck lol

any help to what it could be? cable? TOB?

does the squealing kinda silence out when you engage the clutch if so thats the tob if not and the squealing continues its the pilot bearing. if you jack up the car and take off the shield on the clutch fork and have a friend get in the car and engage the clutch pedal and watch to see if the clutch fork is engaging all the way if not the throwout bearing is bad.

Sounds like you stretched your clutch cable. You might want to get under the car and see what slack is where or if anything is bent. You need to also take of the clutch fork cover and take a look inside and make sure everything is in its proper place.

Could everyone please give me their opinion on buying this transmission?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/PROMO...Q5fAccessories

It is a promotion t5, it says it holds up to 370rwhp, and I plan to get around 350 soon...

This will solve my 2nd gear problem, and then I would have to replace the cable, tob or whatever else on top of the new tranny i assume..

any opinions on the promotion t5s?

thanks!

That does sound like one of the best T5's for the money but remember. It's still a T5. I don't care how many people you know who got one T5 to survive behind 400hp or ran 10's because for every one of them, there are 5 blown ones.

T5's will always tempt you because of the attractive price but if you are racing, making big power, running slicks, you should consider a Tremec TKO.
