Default More HP

I just picked up a 1990 GT5.0 AOD.
All that is done to it is the exhaust.
The car seems to run nice and smooth but I want to get more horse power, where should I start with out breaking the bank?

How much HP would that add?
Do you think the car would handle it? I am pretty sure it is all stock

depends on the supercharger kit.....I already have a h/c/i on my 89 vert with all supporting mods and it is close I assume to 300 rwhp and I'm gonna add a 5-6 psi kit from vortech and it'll add about 75 more rwhp, but the on3 turbo kit would be the best bang for the buck at a little over 2k it'll double the hp and near triple torque, your car should hold up, but there are no gaurantees on anything when it comes to modding

stock 5.0 makes about 190rwhp. stick the on3 turbo kit on and youll make 450-500rwhp (depending on boost level).

if you do add boost be prepared to pull the heads and put in better head gaskets, arp head studs, bigger fuel injectors, bigger fuel pump and have it dyno tuned. i would also get a huge tranny cooler and install a performance valve body because a stock aod will not like the huge jump in power

As far as the performance valve body I cnnot find one.
What would you recommend?
If I went a different direction instead of the supercharger what would you recommend instead, I'm a little worried about the tranny and the motor not handleing the huge boost in power, this is also my daliey driver and might consider a mod like the supercharger in the future
thanks
