331 has a better rod/stroke ratio, but unless youre seeing 6500+ rpm, just do a 347...

Go to fordstrokers.com and contact them about a build. A lot of very satisfied members on this board. They make a great product and will make good power. When you spend the money on a 331/347, you mine as well spend the couple extra bucks it costs to get a great product with the most performance. Too many people try to save a little cash and end up not being satisfied with their build and end up spending even more to make it right.

Yes there is more to it.
You'll need the rotating assembly balanced using your balancer and flywheel/flexplate.
When I built my '347' I had an early (69) block completly machined and the rods from kit sort of 'worked'.
Cost for balancing/machine work was about $875........

The only real trick that is exclusive to the stroker is that you have to grind a dimple into the bottom of the cylinder skirt to clear the rod bolt as the crank swings around.

Everything else is just following normal engine building procedures. So balancing, checking (and altering, if you have to) rod, main, and thrust clearances. Also you'll have to check ring end gap and make sure everything is torqued to spec.

There are a ton of companies that sell kits for this application. Make sure you know exactly what your goals are and get one from whichever company is willing to take the time to make sure they aren't selling you something you don't need.

So......

What are you goals?
