Spraying an 80 shot out of the hole .. The car cut a 1.53 60' .. it has a UPR drag launch kit with an air bag .. Im using a 3:55 gear right now on a 26" et street going into 4th gear about 20-30' before the traps .. I want to stay with a 26" tire but I think I need a steeper gear ... 4:10 too much? I also need a line lock .. burnouts suck without wheel speed .. Need to be doing them in 2nd gear ..

Tell me what you learn from this video .. criticize away my friends ..

That is a REALLY good short time good job man ! And I think if you went with a 410 gear that would be too much since you will be closer to topping out in 4th gear. I think a 373 gear would be PERFECT for you. I run 373's and when I cross the traps I am right at 5500 or 6k in 4th gear.

General5----- Time for some 4.10's IMHO. Might check out some better tires too. Same size just 'better'............

I have 26" tires and 4.10's

you would be above 6,000rpm's in forth with a T5. Probaby at 6500rpms, im unsure.

Your best bet would probably be 4.10's with a 27"-28" tire.

or 3.73's if your dead set on 26" tires, but you are leaving a bit of gear on the table, but that also gives you room to grow when the car gets faster;more power

Orlando is my home town, I miss it sometimes.

4.10's, a 28 inch tire and launch harder (100 shot out of the hole).

What tire are you running? You did have a little tire spin off the line so if you got that taken care of you could cut a little off still.

Well .. I bought these 26-11.50-17 bis ply et streets when i had my 08' gt so i could use my stock wheels .. I wanted to use these up before I buy others .. Im sure a 15" tire would work better .. I need to index the tire with some shoe polish or something so i review the video to see how many revs the tire is spinning .. I also wouldnt mind seeing if the tire is moving on the wheel ..

My 08 made over 550 to the tire and those tires worked very well .. Though I had a line lock on it and was ablbe to do a 2nd gear burnout .. Right now on this car I am limited to 1st gear burnouts and I cant get enough heat in the tire without more wheel speed ..

Also if you watch the video in slow motion, the car comes up in the front and then it bottoms out the stock shock in the rear causing the car to do a lil bounce and the rear loses traction at that pont .. Time for adjustable shocks and strut!!!

I usually go by the ol' "dont fear the gear" moto but im a bit afraid of a 4:10 .. Though I do have a friend with a fox that has been 10's n/a and he uses a 4:56 gear and a 26" tire .. I believe that 3:73 may end up being my choice as I shift the car right around 6200-6300

I think after some shocks and struts, I will be able to get the short times down a bit more.. How do you like the strange pieces you have? I think i will end up going your route with the 3:73 even though the fenders are already rolled on my car and I could cram a 28" tire under there no problem ..
