Default Need some help.

Hi guys i need a little help and not getting too much help in other forums.

I have a 1988 coupe "roller", its striped wiring harness and all.

My question is i have a complete donar truck. 1997 f150 w/351.
Can i use the truck ecm in the mustang? or should i get a stock 5.0 ecm?

Second are the wiring harness the same in the truck as the mustang?

In theory you could use it and make it work, but by no means should you. The 1997 ECM is an OBD-2 system, which has quite a bit more emissions systems checks on it than your car ever came with. You'll have a permanent CEL(assuming you can even wire it to your dash), and a very good chance of extremely decreased performance due to the missing components in the OBD-2 system.

I have a speed density computer and engine wiring harness if you should happen to want it. I also have a couple of 302 blocks.

ah doin some more research the wiring harness from a 1997 f150 inject will not work for my application cause of it being setup for ob2. Correct me if i'm wrong. I'll start hunting down a 5.0 harness and a a9L. Can anyone suggest any good standalones?

The a9l is full programmable by a tuner shop, but if you're seeking a good standalone, then AdderMk2 on this board should be able to recommend something for you.
