Default Quarter window problems

Well, yesterday morning when I was leaving for work I found out that someone had tried to break into my car. They smashed a hole in the left rear quarter window on my mustang. Nothing was stolen, well, nothing that I can remember being in the car is gone now, so that is good I guess. The weird thing about it is that I didnt hear my alarm go off that night (it had to be between 1130-640). So I had the police come out and file a report about the car being broken into. The insurance won't cover it because I only have liability on the car.

What I need now is some advice from yall here. I have been looking around to try to find some quarter windows, and I found on foxresto.com that I can order a pair of quarter windows for $324.99 (without mustang written on the window, or $269.99 per side with "mustang" written on it). The thing is, both of my quarter windows have the usual pitting on them from all the years of being in the sun. Should I try to find a set of good looking quarter windows used off of someone else's car, or should I just bite the bullet and grab the new ones?

i see people selling them on craigslist for under 100 bucks for both. then fix the pitting before installing them. would be alot cheaper

2 options imo

i wouldnt get the knockoffs..... i would get the original replacements that say mustang. those were almost $900 each when you could get them from the factory, and they are super hard to find anymore.

or get some used ones and do the repair on them.

just get the new ones, there is no acceptable repair IMO for the pitting......used ones will have the same issue

I was thinking the same thing. But I really dont have the money to spend on the OEM replacements. So I think I'm going to get the ones that don't say "Mustang" on them and buy the OEM ones later on down the road (I figure that I can put a decal that says the mustang in that same spot until I get the OEM ones). Another reason for that is because I am going to be in a college town with a nice car and who knows what will happen to my car down there, I could possibly end up having to replace them again.

I'd buy a beater, poor other sap college kids seeing your nice ride will only create envy and reasons for them to bring the quality of your ride down to the gutter, meaning they will see it as an opportunity to f with it because they don't respect things they haven't worked for....I say leave it at home or prepare for door ding galore amongst other things
