im on a $1500 budget (i know its not that much to work with) and im looking to try to get at least 300+ out of my 89 5.0... it already has full pypes exhaust(shorty headers), u/d pullies, fenderwell cai, 73mm maf, 24lb injectors, 190lph fuel pump, a/c eliminated, clutch fan eliminated (electric fans), aluminum flywheel, full msd ignition(distributor, msd 6al, blaster coil)

all suggestions welcome, if possible id like to do all the work myself thanks =)

 

shop the corral, and you could score a used set of aluminum heads for around 700-800, and a intake and cam and you should be close to 300

 

any cam/head suggestions in particular? i have a friend thats getting rid of his trick flow street burner intake i could probly pick that up cheap and how much hp do you think im running now?

 

look for some tfs heads, I 'm partial to custom cams, but if you are on a tight budget, a tfs cam may complement the combo and do okay

assuming you have 4.10's already you should be in the low to mid 13 range, probably making 230-240 hp

with the cash you have i'd buy all used......

heads, intake, and nitrous

and thats assuming you have 4.10's, if not get that done first

 

i have 3.55s i do too much highway driving for 4.10s =(

 

500 rpm and .25 mpg makes enuff diff VS the ability to lift the tires ????

in that case.... save the $1500 til you get another $1500 and do a turbo kit. sounds like ur only option really

and nix what i sed b4... with only 3.55 your more like mid to high 14's

 

if i saved the money, on the stock block what kind of boost would be safe to run? only 60k original miles on it im just asking for my knowledge cause i dont have the money for it now

 

9-12psi easy with the right fuel mods and a safe tune and you should see at least 300
